Sainte Foy is perfectly suited to snowshoeing as it is surrounded by unspoilt terrain on all sides.

Take an afternoon walk to the stunning abandoned village of Le Monal, visit Cascade de la Raie frozen waterfall or the Drains circuit (ancient drainage channels in the forests) – whichever route you choose you will really feel like you have the mountains to yourself. Snowshoeing maps are available from the tourist office and many of the routes are easy to tackle on your own. Hiring a guide, or joining a guided excursion allows you to discover more about the mountains and try some more adventurous trails.

Morning, afternoon or all-day guiding is available with SnoCool, whose excursions include a trek to an igloo in the forest!

The cost of snowshoe hire is €5 per day from Zigzags hire shop.
